ESSENCE Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara Review + Wear Test

Time for another review! Today we’re looking at the Essence Lash Princess False Lash mascara, which has a huge cult following in the makeup user circles. I finally decided to try it out, and I think I’ve found my new favourite mascara.

Manufacturer’s claims:
the original lash princess has a big and bold sister with voluminous false lash effects! the conic shape fiber brush provides lashes with dramatic volume and sculpted length, just like false lashes without all the fuss.
How to use it.
starting at the base of the lash line, wiggle wand back and forth, adding as many coats as you like until desired length and volume is achieved.

INGREDIENTS
AQUA (WATER), CERA ALBA (BEESWAX), PARAFFIN, GLYCERYL STEARATE, ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) BRAN WAX, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, PALMITIC ACID, ACACIA SENEGAL GUM, POLYBUTENE, AMINOMETHYL PROPANOL, STEARIC ACID, CARNAUBA (COPERNICIA CERIFERA) WAX, VP/EICOSENE COPOLYMER, DIMETHICONE, POLYESTER-4, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, TOCOPHEROL, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, PHENOXYETHANOL, POTASSIUM SORBATE, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES).
- This product is paraben and gluten free, and hasn’t been tested on animals.
- The mascara has a creamy, extra black formula that changes for the better as time goes on. Personally, I prefer creamy mascaras because I find it easier to apply them without stabbing my eyes or smudging mascara all over my eyelids!
- Product hasn’t got any scent.
- Traditionally shaped “natural” bristle brush. The brush has a good size ratio against the eye, and has a good amount of bristles for easy application. It is easy to catch and coat each eyelash with just the right amount of product.
- Dries down within a few minutes after application.
- One coat of product looks quite natural, while two coats will make your eyes look dramatic and seductive.
- Volumizes and lengthens the lashes well.
- It is hard to make this product budge away from the lashes, however, it is easy to take it off using makeup remover.
- It isn’t a waterproof mascara, but it can withstand a few tears or raindrops. If you get water on your lashes the mascara will smudge, but that’s about it!
- May create clumpy, spidery lashes, especially if you’re not careful enough. It is not the worst product in spider lash category, and the clumps can be brushed out with a clean brow spoolie.
- As the day went on, I noticed tiny bits of mascara beneath my eyes. I think the oils from the concealer and my skin broke down the mascara and made it crumbly. Adding powder underneath the eyes could prevent this issue!
- The product doesn’t hold the curl for longer than a few hours. Throughout the day I occasionally push my lashes upwards, though you should be careful not to break them off!
