FIRST PANNED EYESHADOW // 3 in 1 Challenge Update #2
Hey!
How did you enjoy the first week of March? Is the weather treating you kindly, or is winter still lingering overhead? Honestly, I can’t wait for walks on warm, sunny days and the lovely spring nights. I’m happy to share my first panned eyeshadow of this challenge as well; I have used these products for a few months now, and there was little progress to share up until now.
The change of seasons has made me quite sluggish, and I feel a lack of inspiration towards my blog. Although I have a few posts in the making for near future, I want to hear what you’d like to read more. Do you like articles about books, makeup, or recipes? Perhaps you’d like to read more personal posts, or see cute cat photos? I’d love to read your thoughts and suggestions. 🙂
A small PSA for anyone who likes reading my posts: I no longer have a set posting schedule. I aim to post on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, though sometimes new stuff will appear on random days of the week. Because of that, subscribe to my blog to get email notifications of new posts, or add my homepage to your bookmarks and check it occasionally.
PROJECT PAN 2021
During February I wasn’t in a makeup-wearing mood, so the progress is not as impressive as one might hope.
Essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder in 02 sunny
70g
I used this bronzer a little but there’s no visible progress, which is why I reused the photo from last update.
Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter in Ice Kiss
70g ⇒ 68g
Oddly enough, I used this highlighter enough to extend the pan, and I’m pleased with the current results.
Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in 420 Talk Like An Egyptian
22g ⇒ 21g
Once the weather gets hotter, I might create DIY body sparkle by mixing this eyeshadow with some body lotion. However, I can’t say I’ll use up much product until that happens.
Catrice Defining Blush in 080 Sunrose Avenue
35g ⇒ 34g
The pan is expanding rapidly! Soon I’ll need to replace this product with a new one; should the next blush I choose have a cream or a powder formula?
turquoise and black pencil eyeliners
t. 50mm // b. 65mm ⇒ 54mm
Because of my preference towards the black pencil, soon both of them will be the same length.
bronze cream eyeshadow stick
19mm ⇒ 10mm
I can’t remember if I used this product, which explains why there is no progress to share with you today.
Maybelline New York Baby Lips in Sweet Apple
28mm ⇒ 24mm | 11g
Since the lip balm looked absolutely horrible in photos, I decided to place it into a small jar and mash it up into a creamy paste. The current texture reminds me of creamy lip gloss, which will make it easier to use this product as a lip balm and a cream blush!
Catrice Prime and Fine Lightening Make Up Transformer Drops + Rival de Loop Anti-Red Primer
d. 10g ⇒ 8g // p. 14g
I’ve used both of the products, but not enough to use them up or to make any difference in their weight. Ideally, I’d like to finish them before summer, but I don’t know if it’s realistic.
Rimmel London Salon Pro nail polish Get a Nail Tan
19mm
Last month I used this product once, but from now on I’m planning to use it at least twice a month, if not once a week!
PAN THAT PALETTE
Last month I barely used any makeup, so this month’s updates may not seem as exciting. To be honest, my love for makeup comes in waves; sometimes I use no makeup at all, other times I like wearing it a few times a week, and sometimes I like using makeup daily!
H&M LE Tuscan Escape Shadow Palette
262g ⇒ 261g
I hope you can see the tiny pan in the matte cream eyeshadow at the upper left corner, it’s my first panned eyeshadow of this challenge! (Besides the gold glitter, of course.) I pondered in my last post that the pans are quite deep, and it’s true; most other eyeshadows I’ve used are sold in shallow pans. Of course, it won’t stop me from panning as much of this palette as possible. During March I’d love to pan either of the matte pink colours and the peachy glitter, though I’d be happy with any progress.
A tutorial involving this palette and other favourites is coming soon, though I can’t say when. I’m overwhelmed with things to do, but I hope that sunnier days and more walks outside will help me gather the motivation needed to make my monthly favourites post, as well as other articles.
BOOK A MONTH
Last month I read two books which is a huge success, as I usually read exactly 0 books per month.
During March I’ll try reading two books, one of them being City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare.
City of Lost Souls is the fifth book in Clare’s The Mortal Instruments series, and continues the storyline of the previous book. At this point I’ve read almost half of this book, and I’m realizing that I had forgotten almost everything that happens after City of Glass! As promised, I’ll share a thorough review of the series in April or Mary, but so far I can say that I prefer these series to The Dark Artifices.
I didn’t get to reading Memoirs of a Geisha, so I’m transferring the novel to my March reads list. My goal for 2021 was to read at least one book per month and I’ve already read four, so I’m happy with my results even if I don’t read some of the books as quickly as I hoped! How many books have you read so far? Are you holding on to your New Year’s resolutions?
FEBRUARY READS
Last month I read City of Glass and City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare; her novels are easy to read and feel like the equivalent of watching a TV show before bed. The descriptions of places and characters conjure up vivid images and you can almost hear the character’s voices as you’re reading their dialogues!
I didn’t get around to finishing 1984, but I’ve started reading it every other night, so hopefully I’ll finish reading it during March. Truth is, I haven’t been in the right mood to read dreary stories; my grandma suddenly passed away at the beginning of February, less than a week after my other grandmother’s death anniversary. February has been a tough month for some time now, and while it hasn’t gotten easier, I’m hoping that sunny spring days will elevate my mood.
#QOTD: Are you going through a bit of a slump, too? What helps you get back on track? Leave a comment, I’d love to hear your suggestions!
Until later,

Wow, that blush pan is really growing. Have you decided what’s going to be the next blush?
And hitting pan in an eyeshadow is always impressive, I can never seem to pan them. I can pan blushes and bronzers, but not eyeshadows. Maybe because I use them on a much smaller surface of my face.
Re. Book a Month, I work in the administrative side of the movie business, and I worked with the Mortal Instruments series today, which reminded me of you and I relized I have not commented on this post yet 😀
Thank you for commenting so frequently, I love chatting with you! 🙂
I’m leaning towards either one of my older single powder blushes, or a cream blush I’ve had for longer than I’m willing to admit.
For me, matte cream or beige shades are very easy to pan because I use them generously, which isn’t the case with more colourful shades. But panning eyeshadow is very hard, especially if they’re well-made!
Also, your job sounds really exciting!
