HAPPY TO BE BACK // yearly goals + vision board for 2024
Hello world!
It’s been such a long time since I last blogged that I’ve nearly forgotten how to do this! However, I dearly missed writing for fun, so I want to get back into the groove. Today I’m sharing my vision board for 2024, chatting about my goals for the new year, and looking back at my last year’s goals!
♥ vision board for 2024 ♥
Initially, I created a moodier vision board, but then I realized that it makes me sad if I look at it too often. My current vision board for 2024 is bright, colourful and messy, just like my thoughts!
Most of these photos I found on Pinterest, though some of them are my screenshots, like the “Blank Space” Spotify photo. Pinterest is great if you are looking for inspiration or need some pics for vision boards and collages – I recommend checking it out if you haven’t already!
Once I found all of the photos I wanted to use, I created the collage in Instagram stories. (Let me know in the comments if you want a tutorial!)
My vision board for 2024 clearly represents my mood and current life goals. It would be fun to recreate this moodboard at the end of the year with photos from my archive to see if I reached all of my goals!
MY GOALS FOR 2024
I have lots of goals for 2024, but today I’m sharing ten of my year-long resolutions. I have smaller goals I’d like to accomplish, like reading at least one book per month and walking once a day, but I plan to share them at a later date.
declutter EVERYTHING
This year I’d like to declutter my whole apartment even further. I’d love to move within the next year or two, and lugging around this much stuff would be horrible for my back!
learn Czech
It has been a goal of mine for some time now but this year I want to seriously study Czech. Let’s hope Duolingo offers some other sentences besides “V ledničce je něčí hlava” aka “There’s somebody’s head in the fridge”.
save up some €€€
If all goes well, I’ll be debt-free by summer. From then on I’ll save up money for my moving expenses, and I will create a decent emergency fund as well. If you have any money saving tips, leave them in a comment below!
learn to play the guitar
I’ve had a guitar for many years, yet I don’t know how to play it. This year I’ve decided to change that!
increase my earnings
I’m thankful I can increase my earnings if I work more, though I’d like to create ways to make money even in my sleep. We’ll see how it goes!
(maybe) get a driver’s licence
This goal is under a huge question mark. While a driver’s licence would be handy, I live in a walkable city with decent public transportation, and I only need a car once a month or so. I’m also planning to move to another walkable city with good infrastructure. If you were in my situation, would you bother getting a driver’s licence?
study subjects I’m interested in
I’m not going back to school, but I am taking some free courses that’ll help me with my future endeavours. For now I’m focused on digital marketing and SEO, though I’d love to study some other subjects as well!
create functional routines
Some people are capable of creating routines and sticking to them. Not me, though; I can do one thing for 30 days straight and quickly get out of the routine. So far, I’ve found some routines that work for me, though it’s all a game of trial and error!
take care of my health
It’s a multifaceted goal as it includes exercising, eating better and caring for my mental health all throughout the year. My main goal is to make good decisions on a daily basis, though.
go to the beach often
I love large bodies of water so I ought to visit the beach more often. Latvian beaches are sandy, and the water is shallow near the coastline, so walking or running along the beach will be wonderful!
Did I reach my goals for 2023?
The last post I shared on here revolved around my goals for 2023… I know it’s sad, but what can you do? Sometimes life gets in the way, and you forget you had a blog. Anyways, let’s chat about the goals I had for 2023!
The first cluster of goals revolved around self care and wellness.
I hoped to take time each day to care for my mind, body and life, to get work-life balance in check, have self-care moments every week, and not let myself get burnt-out.
Did I do all of those things? Sort-of, yes. I took the necessary breaks whenever I could, and I can’t recall getting burned out at any point throughout the year. Some weeks and months were tough, but I persevered through them. I still have ways to go in all of these aspects, but I’m getting closer to reaching these goals!
The second cluster of goals involved lifestyle things.
I wanted to learn how to play the guitar (spoiler alert: I didn’t), declutter the home and prepare everything before we move to the Czech Republic, take care of dinner every day, and go for a walk or run once a day.
I’d like to think that decluttering and prepping for the move is coming along nicely – we’ve gotten rid of some things and bought some other stuff we’ll need once we move, and we’re learning Czech. However, the daily habits of making dinner and going for a walk are transferring to 2024 as well.
As for daily walks, I definitely walked more than the previous year, but I need to make it a solid habit. These past few months have been cold, snowy and icy, so I haven’t gone on as many walks, but I’ll push myself to walk more often from now on.
The last cluster of goals revolved around income and productivity.
I hoped to diversify my income, spend one day per week working on my future, and spend another day each week working on my side hustles.
I still have ways to go before I can produly say that I’ve diversified my income, though I’m on the right path. And honestly, I didn’t get around to setting specific days for my future and side hustles. I would love to have such a lifestyle, but my day job has rather strict and short deadlines that dictate the flow of my day and energy.
Hope you liked my vision board for 2024!
Anyways, I’m so happy to be back! I’ll be the first to admit I could’ve been more active on here if I just put my mind to it. (And the daily screentime of my phone proves this claim.) However, sometimes your day job seems to suck all energy out of you. And other times you just want to be a bit lazy…
What are your goals for 2024? Are you even setting them this year?
