Rival Loves Me EYEBROW POMADE & Essence Brow Brush reviews
Hey!
Today I’m sharing reviews of two brow products I’ve used a lot during these past couple of weeks, a Rival Loves Me Eyebrow Pomade in 03 Soft Brown and an Essence Eyebrow Brush! As always, I’ve provided you with all the pros and cons I have noticed while using these products, however, if you still have some questions left after reading the reviews, don’t hesitate to leave a comment!

- Cruelty-free and vegan product.
- Cutely packaged in a small cardboard box, the product comes in a glass jar with a plastic lid and a tiny double-ended brush.
- The brush features what looks like the world’s tiniest spoolie and a thin, slanted brow brush. It’s easy to apply product using the brush it comes with, though the brush can be hard to hold. I much prefer using the tiny brush to apply eyeshadow!
- Comes in four shades.
- The creamy mousse-like texture makes this a good product for beginners and pros alike.
- Highly pigmented formula. It can be a pain in the bottom if you like natural and lightweight brows, however, it’s a huge bonus for anyone who likes more dramatic makeup.
- Dries down to a powder finish and holds the brow hairs in place like a heavy-duty hair gel.
- Doesn’t feel stiff though you can sort-of feel the product when you touch your brows or move your upper face muscles.
- Easy to fill in bald patches or draw fake brows on bare skin.
- Warm undertones that don’t look orange.
- No scent.
- Lasts on the brows for ~8-20 hours, depending on your daily activities and how often you touch your face. It can be rubbed off but it takes a lot of effort!
- Will withstand a nap without coming off entirely. It may stain your pillowcase, though.
- Easy to shape the brow and have a decently sharp outline.
- A bit difficult to blend out.
- Product sets in place really quickly so you have to work fast.
- Hard to layer and reapply as it may bunch up and roll off.
- It’s easy to apply too much product, especially if you tend to apply makeup with a heavier hand.
- May dry out before you’re able to use it up completely. You also have to make sure to really tighten the lid after each use, otherwise it will dry out.
- Glides on smoother on a foundation or concealer base. With such a base the colour also looks more ashy; it doesn’t matter to me but it may be interesting for you!
Essence Eyebrow Brush
the one with the white handle // ~1,69 €
- The white and rose gold colour combination makes the brush look very pretty.
- The brush survived its first wash without losing any bristles. It also retained its shape, so that’s nice.
- Soft, densely packed bristles cut in a slanted shape. The thickness of the brush allows for creation of both thicker and thinner lines.
- Great for nearly all brow powders, pomades, or potted wax products. I’ve tried using it with all types of brow products that are not tubed and it did well; it also works as an eyeshadow brush if you like to apply eyeshadow liner.
- I’m 99% certain it has synthetic bristles.
- Well made product that costs very little and will last for several years of near daily use.
- Because of the white handle, it’ll look dirtier than it actually is. I also have a feeling it may acquire makeup stains, though I can’t say that for sure.
- A bit difficult to wash but that’s not unusual for dense, short-bristled brushes.
EYEBROW POMADE SWATCHES
pomade was applied using the Essence eyebrow brush
Not my best eyebrow look, however, you can see how dark the product looks and how hard it can be to brush out.
#QOTD: Do you like eyebrow pomades? I prefer using eyeshadows or tinted brow gels, though sometimes I enjoy using pomades. I’m interested to hear your answer, though, so don’t hesitate to leave a comment!
