DOUGLAS WISHLIST AUTUMN ’22 // perfumes, makeup + more!
Hey!
Today I wanted to share my Douglas wishlist. In the next month and a half, I’ll have my name day and birthday, so I browsed through the Douglas website to see which products caught my eye. I’m not saying I’ll buy them all, but it was fun seeing what’s out there!
Disclaimer. In this post, I’m sharing products that have caught my attention; as you can understand, I haven’t tried any of them yet, so I can’t offer a trustworthy review. Also, as far as I know, all brands are cruelty-free. I don’t own the product photos; all of them were found on Douglas’ website. If you are the owner of said photos and want them removed, e-mail me at xocaligo@gmail.com.
✨ skin care products ✨
There aren’t as many skin care products I need as I’m blessed with decent skin, but in the colder months, I often suffer from dry, scaly skin, which makes me look dull and tired.
Because of my skin issues, there are two masks I’d love to try out: the Lumene Soothing SOS Mask (75ml for 10,99 €) and One. Two. Free! Cleansing Clay Mask (75ml for 10,99 €). My combination skin gets dry and scaly around season changes four times a year, and the season change is coming soon. (I can drink a bucket of water and bathe in moisturizer, but the dryness only goes away when my skin gets used to the new season.) I figured these products could fix my problems: One. Two. Free! pink clay mask could remove dead skin and open up the pores, and the Lumene mask could moisturize my skin!
It’s been a while since I used any tonic, and the Revox Japanese Ritual Moisturising Tonic (120ml for 6,99 €) seems interesting. According to the Douglas website, the lightweight tonic is full of concentrated, nourishing essences, which moisturize dry and tired skin without making it sticky. Have you tried it? If so, what did you think of it?
I’ve never used retinol, but I’ve heard that you should start using it in your early 20s to prevent deep wrinkles as you age. I figured the Revox Just Retinol in Squalane H2O – Free Solution Age Control (30ml for 6,99 €) would be a good start to this journey! It deals with wrinkles and ageing, and while they recommend it for mature skin, I believe in preventing issues before they arise.
As much as I want to buy the Brazilian Bum Bum cream, I have the Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Bright Cream (75ml for 16,99 €) in my wishlist for two reasons: I haven’t tried this particular scent, and the Bum Bum cream is currently out of stock in the Latvian Douglas website. I’d love to try the smaller size to see if it’s similar to the Bum Bum cream; if it is, my wallet is in trouble!
✨ hair care products ✨
Whenever I have short hair, my hair-care routine includes washing my hair and sometimes using dry shampoo. Now that my hair’s getting longer, I need to take care of it more!
I have two hair-care tools that seem similar, but serve different purposes. The Tangle Teezer Scalp Brush Pretty Pink (12,99 €) is a brush that’s supposed to massage your scalp to improve the blood flow or something like that. I have psoriasis on my head, so having a way to massage treatment in my scalp sounds dreamy! Also, I’d love to get the Tangle Teezer Children Unicorn Magic (14,99 €) because I need a new hair brush, and I believe in having cute hair brushes.
I’m currently eyeing two hair mousses, and I need to hear your thoughts if you’ve used them. The products in question are the Umberto Giannini Curl Whip Curl Activating Mousse (9,99 €) and Lee Stafford Double Blow Mousse (9,99 €). Both are similar, but one promises to define curls/waves and the other promises mega-volume. The question is: would you like me to review either of them? If so, leave a comment!
The last two hair-care products are similar but different, and both seem intriguing. The Umberto Giannini Curl Repair Magic Mask (14,99 €) promises to moisturize and repair hair and scalp, and the formula is made for curly/wavy hair. The Umberto Giannini Banana Butter Leave in Conditioner (12,99 €) makes similar promises, but it’s a product you can leave in your hair. I’m leaning towards the leave-in conditioner as I’m too lazy to use regular conditioners, though I could go either way.
✨ makeup I’d love to buy ✨
I don’t have many wants or needs, though there are some products I’ve been missing, like powder. The Catrice All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder Nr.001 (3,59 €) seems like a good option since it’s translucent and promises to control shine. (I have a Frankenpowder I created by mixing random powders, I need a proper face powder for the undereye region.)
I also need some new face base products, and Catrice True Skin Hydrating Foundation Nr.004 (7,29 €) and Catrice True Skin High Cover Concealer 005 (4,19 €) have caught my eye. Right now, I don’t have a foundation and my concealer is running empty, so these products could be fun to try out. (And review!)
The last two things that caught my eye are old-school YouTube favourites I’ve never tried: the NYX Butter Gloss in Madeline or Tiramisu (7,99 € each) and Morphe M139 Tapered Crease Blender brush (4,99 €). I don’t have nude lip gloss, and Madeline or Tiramisu shades seem right up my alley, while the tapered crease brush could work for both eyeshadows and undereye powder. (I like using tiny brushes to control the placement of powder products.)
✨ interesting perfumes ✨
Two of the products I’m eyeing come from Sol de Janeiro. The Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 (50ml for 69,99 €) smells like their Bum Bum cream, and it’s one of the dreamiest scents I’ve ever felt. (It combines caramel, pistachio, vanilla, jasmine and sandalwood in a way that feels warm, sweet and fresh – need I say more?) The other product on my wishlist is the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 39 Coco Cabana Perfume Mist (90ml for 16,99 €). It’s cheaper than the Coco Cabana body cream, and if I like its scent, I’ll know I’ll like other Coco Cabana products, too!
I’m interested in four perfumes by Ariana Grande for four reasons: their scents, appearance, price, and cruelty-free status. I’m interested in Ari, Sweet Like Candy and Moonlight (30ml for 32,99 € each), and R.E.M. (30ml for 34,99 €). Moonlight interests me the most because of its vanilla, amber, sandalwood and peony notes. However, I’d have to sniff them in-store to see which one I like best!
#QOTD: What products are on your beauty wishlist? Which shops do you prefer? Douglas is like the European version of Sephora, and I rarely shop there because of the higher-than-average prices. However, sometimes I love to browse their products and see what I could buy for special occasions!
Until later,

This is a very interesting list. We have Douglas in my country too, but I rarely shop there as everything is more expensive than in other stores. I’ve heard a lot about Retinol, but as I have a very sensitive skin, I haven’t gathered enough courage to try it yet. If you do end up picking it up, I’d love to hear your thoughts about it.
I can absolutely recommend getting a scalp brush. I got one a few months ago (mine is from Lee Stafford) and it was a game changer for me. Literally. My scalp is very dry, but I still got tiny pimples on my scalp. Since I started to use the brush (I use it when I wash my hair to work the shampoo in) I did not have a single pimple.
One more thing I can confidently recommend: I’ve been using the Catrice All Matt powders for years and it’s my favorite powder.
Wow, the Ariana Grande perfume bottles are beautiful. There are so many perfumes with beautiful bottles, but I have a very limited range of scents I like. Only fruity scents basically, so sadly I probably could not wear these. I blind buy the yearly limited edition Escada scents every summer, becase I know I will like those. 😄
Thank you for the comment and your product recommendations! I also rarely shop at Douglas for the same reasons, but I’ll definitely check out that scalp brush, powder and Escada scents.
I have very dry, flaky skin because of psoriasis (which is active on my scalp and sometimes face) and the scalp brush could solve some of my problems.
And I’ll definitely write about the retinol serum once I’ve tried it; for now, my skin is in good condition, but in autumn and winter it’ll be ready for retinol!
