IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME, MY FRIENDS // 3 in 1 Challenge Update #3

Hey!

I’m getting back into the swing of things, which means it’s time for another Project Pan challenge update. So much time has passed since the last time I published a post like this, and I there’s so many things to share regarding the makeup I have used up and the books I’m trying to read!

PROJECT PAN 2021

I’ve been meaning to start posting on my Instagram @xocaligo again, since I feel I have something more to offer. Because of that, I’m wondering if any of you would like to see some panned makeup closeups? Perhaps you’re interested in makeup looks and beauty flatlays, or lifestyle focused content? Leave a comment, I’d appreciate your input!

Essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder in 02 sunny

70g

I haven’t used bronzer as often as blush so there’s not a lot of progress to share. I might try using it more often but I don’t know how much product I’ll use up!

Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter in Ice Kiss

70g ⇒ 68g

Highlighting is my favourite part of my makeup routine so I have used this product quite a bit. I enjoy the shine it gives my cheekbones, and I’m intrigued to see how much product I can use up before the end of this year!

Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in 420 Talk Like An Egyptian

22g ⇒ 21g

I would love to use up at least half of this eyeshadow, though I might need to use it as a highlighter to reach this goal.

Catrice Defining Blush in 080 Sunrose Avenue

35g ⇒ 34g

I could use up this blush by November, though I don’t know if I’ll wear makeup often enough to do so. If it does happen, I’ll replace it with my Essence LE Cinderella blush!

turquoise and black pencil eyeliners

t. 50mm // b. 65mm ⇒ 60mm ⇒ 54mm ⇒ 50mm ⇒ 41mm

I still haven’t used the turquoise pencil, though I have used the black one enough to get it down by 9 millimeters! I would love to use up either one by the next update, but I don’t know if I that’s plausible.

bronze cream eyeshadow stick

19mm ⇒ 10mm ⇒ 9mm ⇒ 7mm

So far I’ve used up 2 millimeters from this cream shadow stick, and I believe I could finish it off within a month if I kept using it every day!

Maybelline New York Baby Lips in Sweet Apple

28mm ⇒ 24mm | 11g (DONE!)

I pushed myself to use this product with no results so I’m throwing it out. (I just couldn’t get past the clove scent and the bluish red colour that simply doesn’t suit me!)

Catrice Prime and Fine Lightening Make Up Transformer Drops

10g ⇒ 8g ⇒ 6g

I could no longer squeeze out anything from the tube, so I depotted the product into a clean eyebrow gel container. Now I can use it as an eyeshadow primer or mix it with other concealers to “carve” out my eyebrows!

Rival de Loop Anti-Red Primer

14g ⇒ 6g (DONE!)

I also depotted this product inside a different container for the same reason I depotted the drops. Unfortunately, the texture and performance of the primer didn’t improve and it’s just as patchy as before. The product dries on top of the skin and rolls off at the slightest touch, which makes the rest of the makeup application quite difficult!

Rimmel London Salon Pro nail polish Get a Nail Tan

19mm ⇒ 16mm

I haven’t done my nails as often so there’s very little progress to share. How often do you do your nails? Do you paint them yourself, or do you go to a salon?

PAN THAT PALETTE

To be honest, now that I’ve used this palette for many months in a row, I feel like many of the shades are too similar to each other. No matter what look I try to create, all of them turn out almost the same and I feel a need to reach for other palettes!

H&M LE Tuscan Escape Shadow Palette

262g ⇒ 260g

So far I’ve created massive dips in most of the matte eyeshadows, extended the pan in the matte beige and hit pan in the taupe eyeshadow. I don’t have any particular goals for the next update, though I would love to hit pan in the cool pink eyeshadow!

BOOK A MONTH

This year I have read over 10 books so I need to start pushing out their reviews. I’d love to start posting book related stuff at least once a month, so the first review is coming out next Monday!

In September I will continue reading the three books I’ve started, though I’ll focus mostly on A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.

All I know about this book comes from Cassandra Clare’s The Infernal Devices series, where the main characters often mention how much they love this book. I find that Dicken’s books are quite difficult to read so I might not finish it any time soon.

The other books I’m reading are Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. I read both of the books several years ago but I’ve forgotten most of what happens in them, so it was time to read them again! Do you enjoy rereading your favourite books? Would you include them in your “books I’ve read this year” list?

#QOTD: How often would you like to see Project Pan updates? I’m planning to post them once a month, but I could also post them every two or three months to have more progress to share with you all.

Until later,

xoCaligo

  1. Hi, even though you said you didn’t use much make up, I think you still made decent progress.
Are you going to keep the H&M palette after hitting pan in the pink shade? I had a Catrice palette I decluttered exactly because every look was the same with it.

I paint my nails at home every weekend, it’s my me-time, basically a little ritual 😀 Do you prefer doing it yourself or going to the salon?
I’ll read the project pan updates whenever you post them, so as far as I’m concerned, choose the schedule you prefer 😊

You’re reading Jane Eyre! I love that book, my second favorite from that time period (the 1st one is North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, have you read that one? There is even a Bbc adaptaion with Richard Armitage).

    • Now that the weather is cooling down I’ll probably make more progress, though it makes me happy to hear that the current progress is good enough!
To answer your question, I think I’ll keep this palette only because I love the neutral shimmers and the humongous mirror, which takes up the whole inside of the lid. That being said, I have plenty of time to change my mind! 😀

I’ve never gotten my nails done at a salon because I simply can’t justify spending 40+ euros a month on something I could do at home for free! But I definitely need to create a little nail-painting ritual as I have loads of nail polish to use up.

Jane Eyre is also one of my fave classics and so is North and South! I haven’t read Jane Eyre in over 5 years so it feels like I’m reading it for the first time ever which is quite fun. I love watching the early 2000s BBC adaptions of both books whenever I feel stressed out or unwell; the N&S adaptation isn’t as close to the original story but it’s fun in its own right. (And now I feel a need to reread North and South, too!)
