3 IN 1 CHALLENGE INTRO // makeup use-up & reading

Hey!

Today I wanted to share the intro to my 10th Project Pan challenge called 3 in 1 challenge, which combines three separate challenges in one. This year I wanted to use up several products I’ve had for a long time, pan every shade in one of my largest palettes, and read at least twelve books! Do you think I can do it?

PROJECT PAN 2021

I decided to participate in another year-long Project Pan challenge, however, this time I chose products I can easily combine with other products from my collection. This year my goals are quite simple: I want to use up almost all products, and hit pan in the bronzer and the highlighter.

Essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder in 02 sunny

70g

This year I decided to concentrate on one of the biggest bronzers I own because it takes up too much space in my makeup drawers. I love its formula and how it looks on my skin, though I must say the product description is not very accurate: it’s marketed towards those with “darker skin”, but I’m quite pale and this bronzer is just a few shades deeper than my foundation!

Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter in Ice Kiss

70g

A while back I stopped using highlighters, but now I find myself reaching for them again. Because of that, I thought it would be interesting to include one of my least-used highlighters in this year’s Project Pan challenge to see how much product I can use up in a mere twelve months!

Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in 420 Talk Like An Egyptian

22g

This eyeshadow is getting quite old, and I want to use it up before it turns bad. It works best on top of darker shadows, but it also looks nice as highlighter for the inner corners!

Fun fact: there was a time in my life when I bought products purely because I liked their packaging or names. In my teens I loved anything relating Ancient Egypt, and the only reason why I got this product was its name!

Catrice Defining Blush in 080 Sunrose Avenue

35g

I love peachy pink blushes, and seeing that I use blush a heck of a lot, it shouldn’t be too hard to use up this product.

turquoise and black pencil eyeliners

50mm + 65mm

Since there’s very little product left in the two pencils, I’m counting them as a single item. For now I’m mostly concentrating on the black pencil, but I hope to use the turquoise pencil soon as well.

bronze cream eyeshadow stick

19mm

I found this cream eyeshadow stick in one of my makeup drawers, and since it didn’t irritate my eyes, I wanted to try finishing it off. So far I’ve used it twice, though my goal is to use it every time I apply makeup!

Maybelline New York Baby Lips in Sweet Apple

28mm

After my last year’s success when I finished off a barely used lip balm, I wanted to attempt using up this lip balm as well. I’m not a huge fan of its colour or scent, but it will be fine to use while I’m at home!

Catrice Prime and Fine Lightening Make Up Transformer Drops + Rival de Loop Anti-Red Primer

10g + 14g

There’s very little product left inside these two tubes, so I’m counting them together as one product. Both of the products are still usable, however, I’m ready to finish them off and maybe replace them with newer products.

Rimmel London Salon Pro nail polish Get a Nail Tan

19mm

As much as I love this nail polish, I prefer owning products that aren’t discontinued because then I can recommend them to other people.

PAN THAT PALETTE

The palette I’ve chosen for 2021 is one of the oldest eyeshadow palettes I own. The shades are smooth, blendable, and work together splendidly; I’m able to create dozens of looks without making a lot of effort. However, I would love to use up this palette as soon as possible, mostly because it takes up a lot of space!

Have you ever participated in a makeup challenge like this? Do you recommend sticking to a single palette, or would you suggest switching it for a new one every few months? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments down below!

H&M LE Tuscan Escape Shadow Palette

262g

I’ve used this palette around four times and I love the looks I created using the matte pink colours and lighter shimmers. My goals for January are hitting pan in at least one eyeshadow, and creating dips in at least two other shades.

BOOK A MONTH

This year I wanted to challenge myself further than before, and try to read at least one book per month. I love collecting and reading books, however, I often find it hard to start and finish them, especially if they are not interesting or easy to read!

The book I chose for January is 1984 by George Orwell.

I’ve read about a hundred pages of this book, and so far I like the plot and how easy it is to read. The story follows a man named Winston who lives in a totalitarian superstate, Oceania, which is governed by the Party and its leader, Big Brother. Winston works for the government, but the foggy memories of the time before Oceania’s existance make him unhappy with the current system and he secretly wishes to rebel. It’s not hard to see why; most of the world is at war, the continuous propaganda has made people cold and uncaring towards others, and everyone who questions the government either disappears or is punished by death!

Frankly, I couldn’t have chosen a better time to read this book. Certain events happening in the world’s most influencial countries are terrifying, and it’s very important that we all educate ourselves on the importance of freedom and democracy, as well as how radical political beliefs can harm the society’s progress.

  1. Hi, I just found your blog, but I really like your project pan content. Especially since we have very similar tastes and have quite a few of the same products.

In fact I am also panning a Catrice Defining Blush, mine is a peach one in Apropos Apricot.

I also love the reading challenge.

I will definitely be checking in to see how you get on with panning. Do you have a set day in every month when you post your updates?

    • Hey! It’s so nice to hear that you like my panning posts, as they are the posts I enjoy making the most. 💕 I Googled the blush you’re panning, and it looks perfect for the upcoming spring and summer months! I am planning to share updates on the first Wednesday of every month, so the next update is coming on the 3rd at 8:00 AM PST. 🙂 Hope to hear from you more!
