CHANGING MY HAIR // Schwarzkopf Color Expert Review

Hey!

It was time to change my hair colour, so I decided to go back to my roots. The heroes of today’s post are the Schwarzkopf Color Expert hair dye and my mum, as she’s the one who did the colouring!

Quick mention: Schwarzkopf is not a cruelty-free brand. I do generally try to purchase and review products that aren’t tested on animals, however, I can’t always find or afford them.

If you have any additional questions about this hair dye, leave them down below! Also, if you enjoy this post, hit the like button and share it with your friends. 🙂

✨ my experience using schwarzkopf color expert✨

To preface my review, I have to say a few words about my head and hair. I have psoriasis and generally dry skin on my scalp, however, I’ve noticed that it usually gets better after I colour or bleach my hair. As for the texture, I had bleached my hair repeatedly, so you can imagine how damaged it felt to the touch!

Read the instruction and follow it thoroughly. Don’t use these products if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients, and be careful if you have any skin issues. Just because I had a good experience using this product doesn’t mean something can’t go wrong for someone else.

The Schwarzkopf Color Expert colour cream mixture smelled like most other colours, though it didn’t stink of ammonia. The product didn’t really sting or cause any discomfort for my scalp, and I was able to keep it on my head for the recommended 30 minutes or so.

The Repair Sealer conditioner has a strong, nauseating floral scent, and while it makes my hair soft as a bunny’s bottom, I do feel like I have to wash my hair more often.

Each of the conditioner packets lasts through ~6 washes, and I still haven’t had the need to break open the Repair Reviver conditioner. (I’m sure it’s fine, though.)

✨ before ✨

As you can see, my hair was as colourful as a quail’s egg, and the tips were much lighter than the roots. My hair texture was quite dry, so it didn’t look shiny or healthy.

✨ after ✨

I used one set of hair colour, and these are the results. These photos were taken with a flash so my hair looks extra shiny. That being said, in natural lighting my hair looks twice as shiny as it did before the dye.
