REACHING GOALS // 3 in 1 Challenge Update #4

Hey!

I’m quickly reaching the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year, because I’ve read over 12 books and I’m close to finishing five more products! The challenge deadline is three months away, though, which means I have the opportunity to reach even more goals.

PROJECT PAN 2021

I am slowly, but surely reaching my goals of hitting pan and using up products. However, I shared the last update only a few weeks ago so there isn’t that much progress to look at!

Essence Sun Club Matt Bronzing Powder in 02 sunny

70g

I’m slowly, yet surely wearing down the inprint of this bronzer, but I highly doubt I’ll hit pan any time soon. All I know is that I won’t declutter this bronzer, mainly because I like how this shade looks on my skin!

Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter in Ice Kiss

70g ⇒ 68g

I have slightly extended the pan and flattened the product around it, so it shouldn’t be hard to use up even more product. I love when powder products are pressed into pans that have a wafer pattern; they seem a lot cuter than regular ones, you know?

Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in 420 Talk Like An Egyptian

22g ⇒ 21g

My goal for October is to use up the product that’s stuck to the sides of the pan, though I’d love to change the shape of the bottom portion of this eyeshadow, too. I love how this glitter transforms darker colours and makes them a bit more wearable; do you like using eyeshadow toppers?

Catrice Defining Blush in 080 Sunrose Avenue

35g ⇒ 34g

I have made quite a bit of progress in using up this blush, and I hope I can finish it off before November! (Or at least before the end of this challenge.)

turquoise and black pencil eyeliners

t. 50mm ⇒ 46mm // b. 65mm ⇒ 40mm

I used up another millimeter off the black pencil, but the true star of this update is the turquoise pencil because I’ve used up 4 mighty millimeters!

bronze cream eyeshadow stick

19mm ⇒ 7mm

Lately I haven’t used this pencil at all, isn’t that awful? There’s not even that much product left in there so I should really try using it up.

Catrice Prime and Fine Lightening Make Up Transformer Drops

10g ⇒ 6g

I have started mixing dollops of this lightener with some of my deeper concealers to create a DIY concealer-foundation. If I continue using this product so consistently I might actually use it up before the next update!

Rimmel London Salon Pro nail polish Get a Nail Tan

19mm ⇒ 16mm

I haven’t been in a nail painting mood so unfortunately there’s no progress to share. I should really create a little bi-weekly nail painting ritual, otherwise all of my nail polishes will dry up before I get to properly use them!

PAN THAT PALETTE

Even though my heart belongs to bright eyeshadows, I have grown to love the neutral shades in this palette as well. I have decided that I’ll keep using this palette until the shades I love are gone. Afterwards I’ll offer the palette to my mum, since we have very different preferences and the shades I don’t like are the ones she loves most!

H&M LE Tuscan Escape Shadow Palette

262g ⇒ 260g

You won’t believe what happened after the last update! Yes, you guessed it; I hit pan in the cool-toned pink. ♥

Besides hitting pan, I have visibly extended pans in matte cream and taupe shades, as well as created a noticeable dip in the red shimmer. Right now I don’t have any specific goals for October, though I’d love to hit pan in another shade sooner rather than later.

BOOK A MONTH

I don’t want to make promises I can’t keep but if all goes well, this month I might share a few book reviews! The first post I’m planning to share features Memoirs of a Geisha book and movie reviews and comparisons; after that I’d love to give you my thoughts on The Infernal Devices trilogy.

Next month I’ll continue reaching my reading goals by reading The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare and three other books.

I read The Bane Chronicles several years ago and I loved the stories that involved characters from The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments. If memory serves me right, this book also includes a story set in New York during the US Prohibiton era, and I highly recommend reading it!

The other books I’m reading are A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, Gothic Short Stories, and Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë. I haven’t gotten too far in either book, but I would like to finish them before the end of the year so that I could deliver a new book review every two or three weeks.

SEPTEMBER READS

In September I finished reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë. I had forgotten how witty Jane was in the books and how colourful was her relationship with Rochester, so I felt like I was reading a new novel! (Would you be interested in a Jane Eyre review which would include my thoughts on the book and its screen adaptations?)

I also finished reading The Infernal Devices trilogy and I still stand by my belief that it’s one of the best YA series ever. The characters are so colourful and different, and setting of the story is simply magical. I must say, though, the last 3-4 chapters of Clockwork Princess made me weep, and the epilogue tore out my heart and stabbed it with a fireplace poker. (Please tell me I’m not the only one who felt that way!) Anyways, I’ll do my best to share a review of this trilogy within the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

I didn’t read much of A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens; so far I’ve gotten through the repetitive “it was the …, it was the …,” paragraphs. I highly dislike Dickens’ style, however, if I got paid for every word I put on paper I’d also write this way. 😀

QOTD: What is your favourite Halloween movie? I’m always on a lookout for spooky movies so I’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments down below!

Until later,

  1. That bronzer is huge, how much product is in it? It looks like you’re going to have to use it for the next 5 years if you want to use it up 😀

Yes please on the Jane Eyre review. It has so many adaptations, I’m curious which is your favorite. I can never decide between the 2006 miniseries and the 2011 movie.

Agnes Grey is also great, do you like it? I have to admit, from Anne Bronte I prefer The tennant of Wildfell Hall.

I haven’t read any of the Clockwork books, but I’ll put them on my list.

    • I think there’s like 15 grams of product inside that bronzer, so you are probably right! 😀

I’ll try to share the review in November as it seems like the perfect month for dark stories. I’ve seen four or five adaptations of Jane Eyre and my favourite has always been the 2006 miniseries; I just feel like there was strong chemistry between the leads and the characters were closer to the book. (Also, to me Toby Stephen’s Rochester seemed more playful and kind behind the sharp facade, while Fassbender’s Rochester looked moody throughout the whole movie!)

I read some of Agnes Grey years ago, and all I remember is that I didn’t like it as much as Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights. I haven’t read The Tenant of Wildfell Hall but I did watch the mini-series & loved them, so it is on my reading list. I must remember to buy the book in English; I have it in Russian but my reading speed in that language is page every 5-10 minutes! 😀
