Rival de Loop Define & Fill Cosy Brush Eyebrow Pen Review + Try On

Hey!

Today I wanted to share a review of a new-ish product, the Rival de Loop Define & Fill eyebrow pen. The odd brush at the end of it caught my eye, and since I’d just run out of my favourite brow product, I wanted to try out this one! It sure looks gimmicky but does it work?

✨ define & fill brow pen application process

At first, I brushed out my brow hairs with a clean spoolie (1), then filled them in with the Define & Fill brow pen (2). Once that was done, I smudged out the product with the brush it comes with (3). After that, I applied concealer around the brows to make them as defined as possible (4).

The product works fine, though it is hard to create hair-like strokes or “natural” brows. However, I like it when my brows look like they belong to a cartoon character, so I like it! (Though I’m well aware that’s not everyone’s cup of tea.)

➕

  • Affordable, cruelty-free product.
  • A little goes a long way, especially if you want more natural looking brows. The product blends out nicely with the brush it comes with or a clean spoolie.
  • It comes in 4 shades, which are deep enough to work for people of colour. The shade I own is a bit too dark for me, however, it would look nice on people who have a deeper skin tone than me.
  • The triangular shape of the product never disappears.
  • When I’m using this product I can fill my brows in less than 10 minutes. I usually spend a lot of time drawing my brows because they are very uneven, so doing them in less than 10 minutes is really nice. (And that includes the cleanup with concealer)
  • Doesn’t smudge or move around by itself. If you were to rub your brows, some of the product would come off, but you’ll have to use makeup remover to completely remove it from your brow hairs.
  • The slightly waxy texture helps with keeping brow hairs in place.
  • My brows never feel crunchy or heavy when I’m using this product.

➖

  • The shade I have is too deep for my liking and I like dark, cartoonish brows! If it already looks dark in the pictures, you can only imagine how it looked in real life as the camera “eats away” some of the makeup.
  • The product isn’t securely attached, so it wobbles around in the twist-up thingy and I have to push it back in. I don’t think my has dried up, so…
  • I prefer a regular spoolie over this brush. Personally, I’d love to have a brush like this at the other end of a dark, creamy eye pencil, as it would work well to create smoky liner.
